Brazil receives permission to export crab to Japan

The Brazilian government announced health approval for the export of live ornamental crab to Japan, without the need for an International Animal Health Certificate. The measure was confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). Japan, a traditional buyer of Brazilian agricultural products, was the fourth largest destination in 2023, with imports totaling US$ 4.1 billion. From January to October 2024, exports to the Japanese market have already reached US$ 2.84 billion.
