The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) recently participated in a mission to European Union (EU) countries to promote the sustainability and competitiveness of Brazilian agriculture. The mission aimed to engage local players in defending respect for science and transparency in EU regulatory processes that impact Brazilian agricultural exports. They met with representatives from the German Coffee Association, the Brazilian diplomatic corps in the Netherlands, and the Belgian government to discuss concerns about increasing disharmony between maximum residue limits and the lack of consideration for scientific evidence in regulatory decisions.
