Brazilian poultry exports to Arab countries and the halal market are expected to increase due to a decrease in output and exports from Brazil's competitors, especially Turkey. The Brazilian Association for Animal Protein (ABPA) projects that Brazil could produce up to 3% more poultry this year and export up to 8% more than last year. Additionally, ABPA president Ricardo Santin mentioned that Brazil has not registered any cases of bird flu in poultry commercial plants and that the government is working to segregate possible cases to prevent the generalization of the disease in the country.
