Brazil’s pork exports hit second-highest monthly level

With shipments to Japan and Mexico gaining strength, Brazil’s pork exports reached the second-highest monthly volume on record in October, according to a recent market report from Cepea. Secex data show that Brazil exported 142.7 thousand tons of pork in October, 5% below the all-time high set in September (150 thousand tons), but still 10% higher than in October 2025. In the first 10 months of the year, exports surpassed 1.25 million tons, up 13% from the same period last year and a record for this timeframe. The Philippines remained the leading destination for Brazilian pork. Japan and Mexico stood out in October, ranking second and third for the first time, ahead of traditional buyers such as China and Hong Kong. Shipments to Japan reached 95.3 thousand tons in 2025, exceeding volumes recorded in 2024 (93.4 thousand tons) and 2023 (40.3 thousand tons).
