Brazil's sugar exports maintain stable volume, but revenue drops 9.3%

Brazilian sugar and molasses exports recorded stable performance until the third week of November, with volumes practically the same as in the same period in 2023, showing a slight increase of 0.6%. However, the sector's total revenue fell by 9.3%, driven by a 9.8% reduction in average prices per ton, which fell from US$ 532.4 to US$ 480.1. The combination of constant volumes and lower prices resulted in a negative impact on revenue. According to data released by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) this Monday (18), after a start to November with daily export averages 15.2% higher than in the first week of October and 29.44% higher than in October, the pace of shipments has stabilized at levels similar to those of 2023.
