Brazil's crop agency, Conab, has revised the country's sugarcane output forecast for the 2024/25 crop year, projecting a slight increase to 689.83 million tonnes from the previous estimate of 685.86 million tonnes due to improved climate conditions in northeastern Brazil. However, this figure is lower than the previous season's harvest of 713.21 million tonnes. The country's sugar production is expected to reach a record 46 million tonnes, with sugar and corn ethanol output projected at 35.41 billion litres. Meanwhile, raw and white sugar prices have increased on the London and New York exchanges. Pakistan is planning to allow 100,000 tonnes of sugar exports in the 2024-25 fiscal year, with the decision subject to monitoring and potential adjustment based on the sugar market situation.
