The Saudi Arabian Government Food Security Agency (GFSA, formerly SAGO) has purchased 455,000 tons of bread wheat with 12.5% protein at an international tender, up from the planned 420,000 tons, reported the online publication APK-Inform, citing its sources among market participants. The average price at which the wheat was purchased is $262.17 per ton C&F, with trade sources indicating that the main quantities will arrive from the Black Sea region countries. For comparison – at the previous tender for the import of bread wheat to Saudi Arabia, held in mid-May, the delivery of 621,000 tons was agreed upon, against the planned 655,000 tons, at prices between $247.69 and $256.29 per ton C&F, and at the tender for the import of soft wheat to Algeria about two weeks ago, between 500,000 and 720,000 tons were purchased at prices of $259 to $261 per ton C&F.
