From January to August 2023, China's tea exports decreased in volume, value, and average price compared to the previous year. Green tea had the largest decrease in exports, while oolong tea had the highest export growth rate. The top tea export markets for China were Morocco, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Senegal, Mauritania, Russia, Benin, Mali, and Japan.
In contrast, China's tea imports decreased in volume but increased in average price. Pu'er tea had the largest decline in imports, while dark tea had the highest increase. The top tea import markets for China were Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Burundi, and Indonesia. Imports from Myanmar had the largest decline, while imports from Burundi had the highest increase.
