In August 2024, China's tea exports experienced a notable year-on-year increase, with a reduced decline in export value compared to the January to July period. Green tea exports saw growth in both volume and value, while black tea exports decreased but at a slower rate than the overall year. Jasmine tea exports, however, declined in both volume and value, diverging from the general trend. On the import side, both green and black tea import volumes and values rose year-on-year, though the increases were less than the overall year. Import prices for green tea increased due to higher-priced imports from Taiwan earlier in the year.
