In recent days, Bangladesh has seen a notable decrease in the prices of broilers and eggs, with broilers dropping by Tk65 per kg to Tk200 per kg, and eggs by Tk10 per dozen to Tk130-135 per dozen. This price reduction is attributed to the fall in demand due to decreased sales in restaurants and fewer social events during Ramadan, as well as a meeting by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) with four chicken producers, resulting in a requested reduction in wholesale prices. Concurrently, the costs of beef and mutton remain high. While the vegetable market is experiencing price drops, including eggplant, cucumber, and green chilli, the rise in oil prices has offset some of the relief gained from the decreased food prices.
