The European Commission has released its initial approach for the negotiations on total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas for 2024, with a focus on species that directly affect Spain. The proposal includes increased quotas for hake, monkfish, rapante, and horse mackerel, but a decrease in quotas for Cantabrian crayfish. The Commission also plans to set multi-year quotas based on ICES recommendations, aiming to provide the fleet with greater predictability.
