The European Commission is reintroducing tariffs on Ukrainian oats imported into the EU from Wednesday to June 5, 2025, due to increased imports. This action is part of an 'emergency brake' system designed to address concerns from European producers about competition. The tariff quota for oats is set at 4,000 tons, and once this volume is reached, the most favored nation tariff will apply until 2025. Ukraine has exported significant amounts of oats in recent months, with over 11,000 tons shipped between July 2023 and May 2024.
