The Malaysian government has increased its budget allocation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) by 4.1 percent for 2025, bringing the total allocation to RM6.42 billion. This move aims to ensure the availability and security of the national food supply and boost the productivity of the agro-food sector. The budget will be used to continue the modernization and development of the sector in line with the National Agro-Food Policy 2021-2030 (DAN 2.0), and to address its challenges. The budget also includes initiatives such as funding for agricultural projects, incentives for breeders and farmers, and funding for irrigation and drainage development.
