Samsun has become Turkey's leading region for buffalo population, with over 20,000 buffalos. The region also boasts 345,548 cattle, including various breeds, and 250,502 small ruminants like sheep and goats. Additionally, Samsun has a significant poultry population of 3,675,812 and produces nearly a thousand tons of honey annually from 97,448 beehives. Buffalo meat and milk are particularly valued for producing various food products.
