Bulgaria's Ministry of Agriculture has reported a significant increase in lavender plantation areas, with over 210 thousand decares across the country, primarily concentrated in the Dobrich district. The country's lavender oil, known for its high quality and market value, is exclusively for export, with the United States and France being the largest markets. However, the industry is grappling with issues of overproduction, which has led to a drop in prices, and challenges such as insufficient processing capacity and the use of uncertified planting materials.
