European wheat exports have seen a significant decrease of 36% compared to the previous year, with a particular drop in bread and flour wheat. Romania and Lithuania have been the leading exporters, with Nigeria, Morocco, and the UK being the main importers. Meanwhile, Russia's wheat export volume is projected to decrease to 40-41 million tons due to negative profitability for exporters and falling wheat prices on the world market. In contrast, Egypt's wheat imports have increased by 36.8% in 2024, with 74% of these imports coming from Russia, making Bulgaria the fourth largest wheat supplier to Egypt in the same year.
