Sunflower processing in the European Union during the second quarter of the year fell to its lowest level in recent years at just 1.6 million tons compared to 2.21 million tons in the same period of 2024, according to data from the authoritative German market analysis and forecast company Oil World. Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 agricultural season, processed sunflower quantities in the community have declined by 1.65 million tons compared to the same period last season to 7.7 million tons. The sharpest decline was recorded in Bulgaria – by 500 thousand tons, followed by Romania with 300 thousand tons, France, and the Netherlands.
