Bulgaria occupies 1/5 of the total wheat exports from the EU

According to the EC's latest data on wheat exports from the EU, from the beginning of the season to November 17, the countries exported 8.79Mt of wheat. Compared to the volumes for the same period a year ago, exports lag behind by as much as 31% (12.66 Mmt are the volumes in 2023/24). However, there are 2 things to consider before jumping to conclusions: 1. EC data remains incomplete. Information is missing for France and Italy, and for Bulgaria and Ireland they are incomplete from the start of the 2023/24 season. Yes, exports may be lower compared to the previous season, but the quantities available for export are also lower.
