REPUBLICA.CO.ID, KARAWANG — Perum Bulog is strengthening its national food downstreaming strategy by developing agricultural cultivation on its own land. Deputy CEO of Perum Bulog, Marga Taufiq said this step is part of the effort to strengthen the food supply chain from the upstream side. He cited activities managed by the PMO Mitra Tani unit, which has developed 5.5 hectares of land in Desa Kepuh, Karawang, West Java. From the first harvest, productivity reached 7.2 tons of dry rice per hectare. “This is part of Bulog's business transformation. We want to strengthen food downstreaming through control of cultivation upstream. That way, Bulog has full control over the quality and continuity of the supply,” said Marga during the harvest on Tuesday (4/11/2025).
