The African Development Bank (AfDB) is funding a $41 million project aimed at enhancing agricultural production across all regions of a country over two years. The project, which targets crops such as wheat, corn, rice, sorghum, soya, and cowpea, will distribute 34,000 tonnes of fertilizer and 3,000 tonnes of certified seeds at subsidized prices to small farmers. It is projected to benefit 102,000 direct and 612,000 indirect beneficiaries, and aims to produce an additional 1.1 million tonnes of cereals and 59,200 tonnes of legumes.
