Although predominantly privately owned, the project still received about 25% of its funding from public and development mechanisms, through organizations such as the Burkina Faso Agricultural Value Chain Council – Livestock – Fisheries (CBF), the Dumu Ka Fa Fund, FBDES, and the Burkina Faso Commercial Bank. With a designed capacity of up to 150,000 tons/year, Burkina Cajou becomes one of the largest cashew processing projects in the country, following previous initiatives aimed at expanding deep processing.
