The FAO Dairy Price Index has seen an 18 percent rise since the start of the year, reaching 139.9 points in November due to a surge in milk powder and butter prices. Whole milk powder prices have experienced the largest increase, driven by a rebound in global demand and a decrease in milk production in Western Europe. Butter prices have hit a new record high, rising for the 14th month in a row, influenced by strong domestic and international demand and tight inventories, especially in Western Europe. Cheese prices have also increased due to tight availability. In Poland, domestic milk and butter prices have also risen, with butter prices seeing a 37 percent increase over the year.
