Cajamarca: Reforestation begins on the bank of the El Totoral lagoon

The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Cajamarca has initiated the execution of the forestry component in the qocha El Totoral, located in the district and province of Cajabamba. This intervention aims to complement and enhance the functioning of the qochas as natural water storage systems, strengthening water recharge and the sustainability of the natural resources in the area. As part of this component, the reforestation of 105 hectares and the implementation of 24 hectares of silvopastoral systems are being carried out, actions that will improve vegetation cover, increase water infiltration into the soil, reduce erosion processes, and ensure greater water availability for productive and environmental activities in the territory.
