In 2024, Cambodia saw a 31% increase in cashew nut exports, reaching 815,000 tonnes with a value of over $1.5 billion, as reported by the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC). The country also witnessed a 26.8% increase in cashew nut production, achieving 850,000 tonnes. The CAC is encouraging members to dry cashews during price drops, contributing to the rise in exports. There is growing interest from both local and international investors, including five major South Korean companies, in establishing cashew processing plants in Kampong Thom province. These developments are supported by the Cambodian government's efforts to enhance the quality and branding of Khmer products both domestically and internationally.
