Pailin Province in Cambodia has seen significant activity in longan planting, with a total area of 4,920 hectares and 689 farmer families involved in the cultivation. In November, the province exported 1,521 tons of longan to China, accounting for a substantial portion of the country's total longan exports. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia has emphasized the importance of adhering to strict standards in longan cultivation to ensure quality, banning the use of toxic chemicals. Since the official commencement of longan exports to China in late 2022, there has been a notable increase in planting areas as farmers aim to meet the growing demand in the Chinese market.
