Cambodia ranks third in the world in cashew growing area.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Cambodia, speaking at the official launch of the document “Cashew growing area in Cambodia in 2024”, Mr. Ngin Chhay, Director General of the General Department of Agriculture of Cambodia, said that the cashew growing area in Cambodia is estimated at 580,117 hectares, ranking third in the world in terms of the area cultivated for this crop. The provinces with the largest cashew growing areas include Kampong Thom, Kratie, Stung Treng, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Oddar Meanchey, Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri, Preah Vihear, Tbong Khmum and Kampong Chhnang. Of which, Kampong Thom province has the largest cashew growing area with about 147,700 hectares, followed by Kratie province with 102,500 hectares and Ratanakiri province with 97,200 hectares.
