From January to September 2025, Cambodia's fresh banana exports amounted to $132 million, a 20.56% increase from the same period last year, continuing the growth momentum of the previous eight months. The export volume for the first eight months was 211,000 tons (+27.7%), with an export value of $116 million (+21.41%). China remains the core export destination for Cambodian bananas, absorbing over 95% of the total export volume. While consolidating the Chinese market, Cambodia is actively exploring other export channels. Data from 2024 shows that 5% of the total annual banana export value of $138 million flowed to markets such as Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea, with Japan contributing $5.91 million in export value, accounting for 4.28%.
