In the marketing year 2023/24, Ukraine emerged as a significant exporter of sugar, shipping out 691.8 thousand tons. The majority of these exports, accounting for 77%, were directed towards the European Union (EU), with Italy, Bulgaria, and Hungary being the top importers. The remaining 23% was distributed to countries outside the EU, including key recipients like Cameroon, Libya, and Turkey. This information was highlighted by NASU "Ukrtsukor".
