I always wonder: how can Brazil, one of the largest producers of beans in the world, coexist with the constant decline in domestic consumption of this food? Beans, the base of our Plate of Food, a symbol of cultural and nutritional identity, are losing ground to ultra-processed foods. It is a contradiction: we have a complete, nutritious, cheap, and democratic food that, when combined with rice, is perfect, but still does not receive the value it deserves. That is why I strongly advocate that we need to act now. This is not just about the market, but about public health, the economy, and even food sovereignty. In my view, we can no longer limit ourselves to being just an observer of the sector.
