Ukraine has successfully secured approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to export fresh apples to Canada, opening up a new market for Ukrainian producers. The approval comes after negotiations between the Armed Forces, the State Food and Consumer Protection Service, and Canadian representatives. Ukrainian apples must now meet specific import requirements, including the registration of apple growers, packing companies, and exporters with the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection, and the implementation of pest control measures. Each shipment will require a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Ukrainian state service. The Ukrainian government is working to open more markets for Ukrainian exports, supporting producers and reducing technical trade barriers.
