At present, the market for tuna in Thailand is showing an upward trend. In recent months, the catch in the central and western Pacific Ocean has been poor, with reports indicating that some deals in Thailand have recently reached $1,575 per ton, while sellers hope to continue raising prices to $1,580-1,600 per ton.
In Manta, Ecuador, the FAD fishing closure since July has caused a shortage in raw material supply, leading sellers to raise their prices to $1,700 per ton, but currently, this price has not resulted in any specific deals. Given the strong demand from processing plants, the market is expected to have some room for further increases by the end of August.
