Market feedback suggests that at the current stage, major canned tuna producers in Thailand are no longer accepting higher offers and are attempting to further reduce the delivery prices for November and December.
"The market sentiment for November and December remains consistently low," a source told UCN. At the tuna trading center in Thailand, some futures prices for December are lower than the current prices, with a drop of approximately $50 per ton.
In Manta, Ecuador, the 72-day fishing ban (veda) starting from November 9 has led many factories to purchase raw materials in large quantities from other production areas, causing some pressure on local prices. In the 46th week, the raw material price for skipjack tuna in the Manta region of Ecuador was $1,800 per ton, maintaining a stable overall price for several consecutive weeks.
In Spain, the price of skipjack tuna dropped to around €1,550 per ton, while the price of yellowfin tuna from the Indian Ocean remained flat compared to last week at €2,000 per ton.
