According to Statistics Canada, the volume of canola processing in Canada in December rose to 1.08 million tonnes, which is 6% higher than the December figure from the previous year and is the second highest result for the month in history after the record processing volume in October 2024 (1.1 million tonnes). Overall, from August to December, the volume of canola processing in the country reached a new maximum of 5.1 million tonnes compared to 4.9 million tonnes for the same period in 2024. The average production volume of canola oil since the beginning of the season has increased by 42.3%, whereas in August-December 2024 it was 42.1%.
