Konya, a city in Turkey, contributes significantly to the country's carrot production, meeting approximately 65% of Turkey's demand. Located in the central Meram district, Kaşınhanı Neighborhood, with a population of 6,000, is instrumental in this production. The carrots are carefully tended and harvested, then processed and packaged for export to countries such as Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Bulgaria, and many Arab countries. Mehmet Çetin, a carrot producer, mentioned the challenges of carrot production, including high costs and a need for incentives from the government, as well as difficulties in finding workers, which are addressed by employing Syrians and Afghans.
