The Pangasinan Provincial Veterinary Office has confirmed cases of heat stroke in poultry due to extreme heat conditions, with the highest heat index recorded at 51°C on April 29, 2024. Some chickens have collapsed and died due to the heat and lack of regular water. The office is monitoring poultry farms and advising owners to implement preventive measures to reduce chicken mortality. Despite the increase in chicken mortality and price per kilo by 20 pesos, the office assures there is sufficient supply of chicken in the market.
