Cassava is expected to have a record harvest in 2025

The Agricultural Economic Bulletin released on Wednesday (19) by the Rural Economy Department (Deral), from the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of Paraná (Seab), indicates that the rainy weather in November favored the development of cassava crops. According to the bulletin, the rains contributed to "the development of the roots and the improvement of the uprooting." Until then, the harvest was advancing slowly due to the drier period recorded between August and October, which may lead, according to the document, to "a revision of the area effectively harvested this year," as part of the crops will have their harvest postponed to 2026. The survey records isolated occurrences of hail and root decay, but without significant impacts on production. Even with these factors, Deral states that they "should not prevent the achievement of a new production record in 2025."
