The Ucayali Regional Directorate of Agriculture reported that the Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance (SAC) was activated due to the unusual occurrence of the phenomenon known as "Repique," characterized by the sudden rise and fall of the Ucayali River, which affected extensive areas of maize, bean, rice, and vegetable crops. The regional director of Agriculture, Engineer Walter Panduro Teixeira, formed a commission headed by the director of the Agrarian Office of Coronel Portillo, Engineer Leto Ruíz Meléndez, and the director of Agrarian Statistics, Engineer Pavel Tello Padilla, along with the heads of the agrarian agencies of Manantay, Yarinacocha, Callería, and Masisea, with the objective of quantifying and validating the crop losses caused by the river's flooding.
