The Ministry of Agriculture presented aggregate data on the export of corn and sunflower over the last three fiscal years, 2023 to 2025 - the corn plummeted.

If during the 2022-2023 agricultural year, when Russia started the war with Ukraine, the export of Bulgarian corn exceeded one million tons, reaching 1,258,892 tons, two years later – in the 2024-2025 agricultural year (from October 2024 to April 2025) exports fell to critical levels of 346,217 tons. This shows an analysis by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, which provides an accurate picture of our export markets for the past three years. Returning to 2022-2023, we recall that the global grain prices at that time still matched production costs, which is why Bulgaria reported relatively good export revenues, amounting to 348,025,433 euros. However, shortly thereafter, export trade went downhill and during the 2023-2024 agricultural year, our country managed to export only half of what was achieved the previous year.
