The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Egypt has announced plans to import 5 to 10 tons of frozen poultry during the winter to maintain price stability and meet market demands. As some producers have halted production due to high costs, the ministry will sell the poultry at competitive prices through its outlets. The ministry also sells Sudanese red meat and other food commodities at competitive prices to prevent monopolies and market imbalances. The Food Industries Holding Company is also providing discounted frozen poultry to consumer complexes to prevent price hikes and monopolies.
