The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is warning cattle producers about the reinstatement of the Corporate Transparency Act's filing requirements, following a court decision that lifted a preliminary injunction halting the mandate. The Act requires millions of family farmers and ranchers to disclose beneficial ownership information to the government, risking severe fines and jail time. Despite a delay in enforcement until January 13, 2025, the NCBA believes this is not enough time for small businesses to comply and plans to continue advocating for a permanent solution. In the interim, cattle producers have been advised to seek legal and tax advice.
