In recent weeks, the market has seen a shift in cattle pricing, with bulls now priced higher than heifers, a trend that has persisted for an extended period. As of the 19th week of 2024, the highest prices were recorded for bulls in class R and O, reaching PLN 20.50 and PLN 19.80 per kilogram, respectively, with live weight bulls maxing out at PLN 11.70 per kilogram. In contrast, heifers in the same classes were priced slightly lower, at PLN 20.50 and PLN 19.50 per kilogram for post-slaughter and live weight, respectively. Cow prices have also seen a slight increase, levelling out at PLN 17.00 and PLN 8.00 per kilogram for post-slaughter and live weight respectively, making cows the least expensive category among the purchased cattle.
