The number of cattle in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has increased by 1.7 percent or 7,800 cattle compared to last year, marking the first rise in seven years. However, the number of pigs in the state has continued to decline, with almost 19.3 percent or 135,500 fewer pigs than the previous year. Dairy cow numbers also decreased slightly by 1.2 percent or 1,800 cows, while sheep numbers fell by 3.4 percent or 2,500.
