With the intention of seeking support to improve rural security, a delegation from Abigeatos Uruguay, which groups together producers from across the country, was received by the Senate Budget Commission. This meeting allowed the ruralists to learn firsthand the legislators' stance on crimes in the agricultural sector and to contribute some proposals that aim to be included in the Budget that will be voted on in the coming days in the Upper House. In this regard, the producers are asking that the Ministry of the Interior prioritize the placement of cameras in strategic locations, preventive rural patrolling, and that the rural police have sophisticated drones to monitor, especially at night, which is when the highest percentage of crimes occur.
