The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) said in a statement that it celebrates the dialogue held today in Malaysia between the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the United States, Donald Trump, to strengthen trade relations between the countries. Cecafé highlighted, however, that it awaits concrete results for the exemption of the tariffs currently applied to the coffee sector. "The exemption will contribute to the reduction of the current inflationary pressure on the product in the U.S. market and to the strengthening of the sustainability of the entire Brazilian production chain," it stated in the text.
