In San Juan, Argentina, the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa) has secured phytosanitary certification for a pomegranate export shipment to the United States. The fruits, sourced from the Acequión area, are expected to meet the US requirement of being healthy, clean, dry, and fruit fly-free. This necessity is achieved through a quarantine treatment, in this case, a cold treatment during transit, maintaining specific temperatures for either 15 or 17 days. Senasa ensures the implementation of these procedures and the necessary record-keeping. The pomegranate export season in San Juan is underway and is expected to conclude in early June.
