(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Ae-ran Kang = The National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives announced on the 16th that Chairman Ho-dong Kang received the 'Korean Professional Manager Award' at the autumn academic conference of the Korean Professional Manager Association held at Seoul City University's Future Hall the previous day.
The Korean Professional Manager Association comprehensively evaluates corporate management performance, social responsibility, and ethical management annually to award the Professional Manager Award, and explained that this year, Chairman Kang was selected unanimously.
Chairman Kang, who joined Yulgok Agricultural Cooperative in 1987, has been active in the agricultural field for 38 years as a professional manager. Since taking office as the central chairman in March of last year, he has secured 16 trillion won in interest-free funds, strengthening the management safety base of the agricultural and livestock cooperatives. He also improved the profit and loss of the mutual finance special account by 870 billion won and achieved 12 million customers for Co-op Bank.
Chairman Kang said, "Through the 'Nongsim Cheonsim' movement, which emphasizes that the heart of farmers is the will of heaven, we will create a cooperative that is together with the people" and "We will transform into a cooperative that leads corporate social responsibility by inheriting and developing the cooperative movement that the people empathized with in the past, such as the Shintobul movement."
