Chamber of Commerce in Egypt: The stability of the price of a ton of imported and local beans during November

Obour Faraj al-Attar, deputy head of the Agricultural Crops Division at the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, said that a ton of imported beans in the local market amounts to EGP 14,000, the delivery price for wholesalers, and has not witnessed any increases during the past or current period, and is sold to consumers at EGP 18 per kilo. The deputy head of the Agricultural Crops Division told Al-Mal that the price of a ton of fava beans ranges from 20 to 22 thousand pounds, delivered to wholesalers, while the selling price to consumers ranges from 24 to 28 pounds per kilo. Al-Attar denied the existence of any increases by wholesalers in the prices of beans, whether they were imported or local, during the month of November, pointing out that there are rumors circulated every once in a while about increases in the prices of a number of important commodities for citizens.
