Duc Tho district in Ha Tinh, Vietnam, is experiencing a successful harvest of its summer-autumn peanut crop, spanning over 13 hectares with the majority in Tung Chau commune. The favorable weather and suitable riverside alluvial soil have resulted in high yields, with each pole producing an average of 1.5 to 2 quintals. The season's selling price of fresh peanuts at 15,000 VND/kg promises farmers substantial income, excluding crop investment costs. This shift from green beans to peanuts, particularly in Bui La Nhan commune, has proven profitable due to the higher market value and increased economic efficiency. The success of this agricultural innovation is expected to inspire similar practices in other areas, showcasing a valuable example of crop diversification and sustainable farming.
