In the face of severe natural disasters and unpredictable weather, Huong Khe district in Ha Tinh province, Vietnam, is strategically planning its summer-autumn crop for 2022. With a goal to cultivate 4,440 hectares of rice and vegetables, the district aims to mitigate the risk of natural disasters by focusing on crops with shorter growing times and implementing drought prevention measures. These measures include organizing a rescue boat fleet, balancing water sources for irrigation, and switching to upland crops in areas with water scarcity. The district also emphasizes the importance of reviewing risk areas, updating evacuation plans, and stockpiling essentials to ensure the safety and productivity of its agricultural communities.
