(Changwon=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Sun-gyeong = Changwon City, Gyeongnam, announced that on the 15th, it visited tangerine-growing farms in Buk-myeon to inspect the production status of tangerines ahead of the Chuseok holiday peak season.

Acting Mayor Jang Geum-yong, who visited the tangerine farms on this day, examined the damage from sunburn, the status of diseases and pests, the expected production volume, and listened to the concerns of the farmers.

In the Changwon region, it was reported that about 10% of the tangerines suffered from sunburn damage due to this year's heatwave.

The city expects a bountiful harvest compared to previous years, as the growth has been managed relatively stably through appropriate irrigation management and the spraying of sunburn mitigation agents, despite the occurrence of sunburn damage.

Acting Mayor Jang also visited several complaint sites, including the footbath experience center at Mageumsan Hot Springs, the road construction site connecting Mudong to Mugok District in Buk-myeon, and the site requesting the expansion of the bridge in Myeongho Village, and listened to the opinions of the residents.
